CC Chair

Designed and built in three weeks, CC was a fast paced exploration of bespoke manufacturing, bent plywood, and mold making. The final design utilizes efficient mold design to make repeatable parts.

Chipboard models allowed quick explorations that simulated working with thin plywood.

Early CAD refinement led to joining the seatpan and front legs together in one piece.

Built a full scale model to test the strength, scale, and comfort of the chair.

Further changes in CAD led to three molds that produce all eight different parts.

A final prototype was built using three ply baltic birch plywood and finishing with polyacrylic.
